We can add Aliss to our list of layers! She was in the nest box a lot yesterday but didn't manage to pop it out before bedtime. Found her egg below the roost this morning! Tiny little thing, I think it's even smaller than Magrat's first egg was.

I got some video of her in the nest box yesterday, I'll post it in a bit ☺️
Woohoo 1st egg! :wee :wee :wee :wee

Freeze warning in late night- early morning for my area. California residents don’t know what to do to protect themselves or their outdoor plumbing. Freeze could be a bad thing for the area because of all the trees budding this time of year.
One of my church patrons has been been affected by the frost. Her heater hasn’t been fixed and she is using a space heater and heating pad. She’s arthritic and has real problems. :(

Hubby asked me to candle one of the ayam cemani eggs, and it was definitely developing!
I think I'll have to wait until day 7 or later to see anything growing in the blue, green, and maybe middle brown eggs. I doubt I'll see much inside the brown ones until much closer to hatching.
But the white, cream, and pinkish ones I can see inside!!!
(Sorry if I posted this earlier I don't remember who I told this to yet)

Oh no that’s not good, I really feel for those who are not used to the cold temps.

I am not a fan of heating pads they can cause burns to the skin, please tell her to keep it on the lowest setting, even if she feels it isn’t working.

I have had patients with burns caused by the use if these heating pads.

A better option is a hot water bottle.

Please tell her to be very careful. And you also, stay warm.

The closer you get to hatching the less you will see as the chick will fill the egg. Dark shells are almost impossible to candle.
