I'm so sorry, that's horrible. I hope it was just her and not something that's going to spreadTERROR AND PANIC
That is the only way I can describe how I felt this morning.
Petunia is dead. She died in the Hen House on the roost ledge with the others in the wee hrs of this morning. Well before I got out there at 4:30am.
Why?! That’s what terrifies me and makes me panic. Was she not feeling well? Yes - she had been I’ll for about a week, had yellow poops, Sunday I started her on amoxicillin. Yet she died. Why? Did she have health issues? Yes - she was plagued with soft eggs last summer, and then an impacted crop, but once she moulted she blossomed. But she became ill again. And now has passed away rather suddenly.
Now I play the watching game with the rest of the flock, see if anyone else becomes ill. Meanwhile I think I will worm and treat for coccidia, just to cover all bases.
And then there is this in the News:

My gang likes when I sit on my lawn chair and just be with them. They hang out around me, have a snooze, and if I fall asleep they peck my eyes… errrr sorry no not that hahaha! They hop up on my lap or the arm of my chair and snooze with meI want to do something special for my chooks. They all have been so good to me lately. I just don’t know what I can do
They get veggies and meats for treats. They get the best feed I can give. I try to give them each all the love I can. I’m building a separate house for Mr Wyandottey, because he’s way too pushy with the Rockettes (the older ladies) and they choose not to let him do his rooster business.
At this point I going with the ‘sit tight and be vigilant’ plan.@Ponypoor are you able to do a necropsy? Could it have been cancer? A heart issue? I really am so sorry![]()
Do you have any mint at hand for the collick? It worked for a lady horses that I once knewThat darn Truly, now she is showing signs of being colicky, which means I will be up now. I gave her some Bute (pain med), in the off chance she is just really achy with her arthritis.
But she isn’t eating which is always a bad sign with horses.
So here is am having to watch her on the camera for the next hr to see if the pain meds work.
Or if I have to get dressed and go to the barn and walk her all night.
Meanwhile her camera in her stall keeps going down. Sheesh!
All I can think of, is when Curly popped up onto my lap one day and quick as a flash grabbed my bagel and took off!Fired and removed from the office. Not arrested.
Not exactly a surprise as inspectors general of about a dozen agencies were also fired, and she in particular had angered Musk because her office is investigating his company (Neuralink) for Animal welfare violations.
She was a George W. Bush appointee.
Tax: Here is Sylvie getting in on the dinner roll action.

I didn't catch it on camera because I was so shocked - but the sight of her running with a whole dinner roll in her beak was pretty awesome. All I can think of, is when Curly popped up onto my lap one day and quick as a flash grabbed my bagel and took off!
