You have tough chickens!
It varies as to when: may, June...occasionally July
A stye is an infection in the oil gland/hair shaft of your eyelashes. Can chickens get styes?![]()
Don’t paint your toenails red!Your kneecap pecking girls, Barbosa is like that with my shoes. If I stop for just a second there he is pecking away. I think he is obsessed with my shoelaces as he eventually goes for them. I have yet to test him out with my crocs. He is not aggressive in his pecking of the shoes so I do not see this escalating into flogging. Right now he simply has a shoe fetish.
Awesome ! Congratulations! That’s so eggciting!Whohoo, I can confirm a second silkie layer and I caught her in the act this morning.
Lori my solid black bearded silkie pullet is laying.
Mine seem to have eyelashes. I assume they are fine feathers.A stye is an infection in the oil gland/hair shaft of your eyelashes.
I guess technically a chook can get an infection in the feather location, but I don’t think they have feathers that close to the eye - do they?hmmmm need to look close at a chook!
Have had a stye it was an ugly painful thing, I think I post a pic here of mine so I could elicite some sympathy

Nice! Very lovely photo - even with the evil white stuffTemps stayed above freezing overnight...and the chinook winds hit (foehn winds in europe).
