Something is very wrong with me. When Flash takes a moment to poo, I immediately looked to see what it looked like. I think I need an Intervention.

In one year, (a heartbreaking time) my chicken numbers, went from fifteen down to five.
In one year the social dynamics of group functions, ie church and civic groups, dwindled to practically nothing. Masks are a normal accessory now. (Even if some people, still won't believe or accept the necessity for them). "That was run on sentence, wasn't it"? Oh well, We all must make due, and persevere !

Canna is in molt now. She has only one tail feather left. (I hope, that's all it is) I checked her, and all the others for mites, and lice. (none present on them)
Canna is my house guest tonight. Why not?

If it wasn't for my incredible BYC friends on here, I would have given up on having my feathered pets. Thank you all!

The conversation, I'm no longer sure on which thread, regarding the chickens lost by @Ribh and @featherhead007 couple with it being the 5 year anniversary of Elphie's passing had me thinking of all the chickens that have come and gone at Fluffy Butt Acres. Here are the sad totals. We have been in the chicken business since 2013, over 7 years now. We have not been real food at this apparently.

Killed by Predators

• Dolly: Hawk, 2014
• Maleficent: Likely a weasel, 2020

Drowned in the Pool

• Elphie, 2015
• Dusty, 2020

Medical Issues

• Trisha: Cloacal Prolapse, 2015
• Daisy (the greatest hen ever): Salpingitis, 2018
• Patsy: Old Age?, 2019

Removed from the Flock

• Jabberwocky, 2019

Not counting Jabber, that's 1 chicken lost a year. Doesn't make me feel like I'm doing a great job. I don't know that I would trust my chickens with me.

That's not the best way to look at it! What about all the magical times, WITH the ones we have lost?

My cats used to do that. I miss it. These two i have are not friends.

Me too. My current feline family tolerate each other - some are even friendly - but none of them snuggle with each other like that.
They prefer to have me separating them from each other.
