What is wrong with Poooh?
Since her molt she has some feathers on each side that seem to be growing in the wrong direction and sticking out. Kind of below her shoulders on each side.

Red has them too, from what I can see they must have twisted them while they were growing in.

4 more eggs to add to the tally so far today. I left Poppets in the coop until later. They were all congregated by the door.

That would be Owly, Spooky and Lilly's.

Here is the thing with Lilly. She is giving you 1 of 2 eggs. Lighter with bigger splotches. The next day she lays a darker one covered with a thousand tiny speckles. They are both hers though as I have witnessed her lay each variety. It is just a matter of how her ink jet is working that day. I love them both.

It’s been a rough winter with snow from Dec till just last week. Yuck!

Meanwhile I checked the gang, Mr P is roosting out of range of the ladies.

And Clyde was running around doing his thing.

I will make sure to dose him directly tonight to give him a bolus of the Tylosin.

Good morning everyone.

I admit I am a bit behind. It is very hard to keep up now that I am working. I have today off so my chickens are calling my name this morning. I was too tired last night to go out and gather eggs. Rosie had already put everyone up so I went straight to bed. Judging by the noise the ladies have already been hard at work. I've got a pot of coffee almost done brewing and I am heading out. I need to clean out both coops today before storms set in. I also need to get the eggs out of the silkie coop. I do not trust those little fuzz balls. Leaving a days worth of eggs in is liable to set off every single one to go broody. Honestly I am very surprised and happy so far that none of them have gotten that idea in their head already. I will say one of them is trying to plant that thought though. Barbosa was sitting on them tidbitting the other day. Good grief little dude, are you a Branch in the making...stop that. Between that and leading the great silkie coop escape Sunday I am going to start permanently calling you Hector.

I have my camera fully charged so later I will have pictures. It is fluffy butt friday so I definitely need some of those.

Ok so I do not remember you mentioning the Great Silkie Escape.

Wear the bikini under your long Johns.

Good thinking. So I can take the top layers off as it warms up and bag them. Then I can put them all back on again as it gets colder

Wear the thick coat over your long johns. Sheesh, do I have to think of everything?
And today is Friday, so go buy yourself a herring!

I've not ate a herring before but I'll give it a whirl.

I do like them a lot, they are just such a classic "sweet fat hen" like the stories from my childhood. Now, if only I could remember the book series that featured said hen, I'd be even happier.

Greetings from the Dominion of Canada - where it is FINALLY looking like Spring - at least here in the eastern half, +14C tomorrow can you tell I am eggcited!

Poor @LhickenChicken though is still having winter in Alberta.

I am gonna drag out the lawn chair and sit and watch the chooks with a cuppa tea

I've been really lazy today.

Nancy has only just had her walk. We've had some tea and now it's time for a cuddle
