Well this isn’t exactly the flock photo yall asked for, but I’m a proud mama with my chooks roosting for the first time! All 13 lined up 😭 yes, I did have to block off the nesting boxes but it was totally worth it and only took 3 days for them to figure this out 😜

Flock update- 7/8 weeks old and they are *almost* on their “regular chicken schedule” - going in and out to their run with the auto-door, flocking to me for a treat once a day and to peck my boots, and really enjoying the spring air and plenty of space to flap their wings. Portrait of our gold laced polish who were still not sure the sex of!
Beautiful ladies but that Polish is serious eye candy. :love

Things that I have learned in life:
- the chances of a jelly sandwich landing face down on the floor, is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.
-Chooks poop! They don’t mean to be annoying, but sometimes I wonder if they are being deliberate with their actions. 💩🤦‍♂️
-there will be condensation contamination in aircraft fuel tanks and will co$t to clean.
-Rhode Island Redheads are smart and people should not take them for granted. 🐓
-we lose memory as we age. (Personal experience only)
-As we get older, we become aware that it’s the little things in life that matter more than anything.

Buttons! Buttons! What is the attraction to my shirt buttons?
And I noticed that, the more expensive the shirt is, the more likely it attracts the attention of my chooks! :idunno (And they poop too)
Well you don’t want them eating cheap junk food do you?!
:gig

Is it normal for chickens to pant before/during laying?
