I didn't know you had to be elected to look after the polls on election day. I was thinking of signing up to help in future elections (all part of my retiring plan). I nearly did it for this year and right now very glad I didn't.
In PA, I don't know anything about NJ, there are 3 elected positions, a majority and minority inspector and the Judge of Elections who is responsible for everything that occurs. As the Judge, I am responsible for staffing the polls. It is my job to identify qualified people like yourself, train them, and then monitor everything which occurs. I also deal with any problems that should arrive. This past time I had to deal with over 60 different individuals that had issues. I personally certify the results from my polling place and at the end of the night transport everything to election headquarters for processing.

Mrs BY Bob, one of my trained helpers, also provide food for everyone who is working. As a thank you for all the time and hard work they provide. I actually do not have a minority inspector. In 12 years no one has run for the position. I have to appoint one every election.

Tonight's Roosting Drama

First everyone is in the coop. I filmed this as I watched from the outside. It starts with everyone settled and then Aurora enters. Then it appears that Lilly forces Sydney down off the high roost. That leads to Aurora blocking her from returning. Once Aurora is done with Sydney, her and Hattie gang up on Phyllis.

I wish I understood all of this. I can't figure out why this happens one night and then not another night.

Aurora the instigator, very sad situation

There is a reason for chicken keeping here being more of a mans thing and that is a lot of the real enthusiasts had at some point relatives involved in cock fighting.
Thankfully very little of it goes on now but the desire to keep roosters seems to have been passed father to son.
Cock fighting is despicable... I’m glad that it is not being continued on in your area, but that’s certainly not the only reason to love keeping Roosters.
