In PA, I don't know anything about NJ, there are 3 elected positions, a majority and minority inspector and the Judge of Elections who is responsible for everything that occurs. As the Judge, I am responsible for staffing the polls. It is my job to identify qualified people like yourself, train them, and then monitor everything which occurs. I also deal with any problems that should arrive. This past time I had to deal with over 60 different individuals that had issues. I personally certify the results from my polling place and at the end of the night transport everything to election headquarters for processing.I didn't know you had to be elected to look after the polls on election day. I was thinking of signing up to help in future elections (all part of my retiring plan). I nearly did it for this year and right now very glad I didn't.
Mrs BY Bob, one of my trained helpers, also provide food for everyone who is working. As a thank you for all the time and hard work they provide. I actually do not have a minority inspector. In 12 years no one has run for the position. I have to appoint one every election.
