Good job Sherlock!
Was windy here too but warm. Piglet is always so funny in the wind because she is small. She always seems to be bowled around by the wind.
Yep small chooks and wind - poor things. It’s funny but also dangerous! Even the wild birds weren’t flying yesterday after! My swallows roosted earlier too.

Tassels having a little rest at my feet. Her comb looks a little pale to me. She is laying eggs again after her marathon broody spell. I will check her out for creepy crawlies - though I did so every day she was broody and saw nothing.
She is not behaving poorly, but I always worry.

Everyone, I have some really really sad news. This doesn't explain why I was gone for a few days, this literally happened today. This is hard to believe and I'm not lying but Grandma has left us. She might've had breathing problems but I'm not so sure. I just came home and my mom showed me where Grandma was. I thought she was hiding in a new spot from the sun, but no. She told me Grandma died. She didn't make it to May. My heart feels heavy and I feel sick to my stomach. I was really hoping she'll make it to her 10th birthday, but no. I'll never have another chicken like her. Good bye, Grandma. I don't think I'll ever get over this. Here are the last few pictures of her. Yesterday, we got new baby chicks and they are starting to annoy me now that Grandma is gone.

So sorry you lost Grandma :hugs:hugs:hugsNever easy losing our beloved pets. Legitimately she lived over 10 yrs if you factor in the 21 days it took her to hatch 🩷. Those are sweet last pics of her 🤗

She was a lovely & sweet girl!❤️❤️❤️

Please don't let the new chicks annoy you - it wasn't their fault, and being so young, they wouldn't be so quick to pick up on your emotional vibes (plus, at that age they just plain old have too much energy to pause!). And, obviously by your pic, Grandma had accepted them - take a cue from her, and let them run all over you and roost on you for warmth (and be their jungle gym!) - they will be a distraction for you...and it will give you and them a chance to bond. They will never replace Grandma, but it doesn't mean that you can't have a wonderful relationship with them, too - it will just be different.

Give it a few days - you need to mourn - and then let them help you heal and remember the good times - and build new memories with them. (While, of course, remembering the fond memories of Grandma - remember - she isn't fully gone until you stop remembering her.)

I have been trying to loose a little bit of weight for a few months now. I cannot do a crazy or restrictive diet simply because of my diabetes. I am on insulin, I cannot cut out carbs entirely. December made 2 years since my Hysterectomy, and I had gained almost 40lbs since the surgery. I got serious about taking some of that weight off in January. I'd lost about 10lbs easily and then I had stalled and it was refusing to come off. It has been rough but maybe I have gotten over that stubborn hump and I can get close to where I was 2 years ago.
Hitting a plateau in losing weight is common. Can go on for weeks but keep up the sensible foods & it will start dropping again though it will be more slowly dropped than the 1st plateau. Why is it faster to put on pounds than to take them off ⁉️
