Hatch update.

I am still chick-less. I was actually starting to worry a smidge. I'm good now though. While I cannot find any visible pips...and I just shone my flash light on all the eggs and stared at them until I went cross-eyed, 1 of the eggs rolled really good. Things are starting to happen finally. Here's hoping I wake up in the morning to at least an external pip.
As I said before, first they chirp, then they pip, and then they peep, and then they poop 💩!

This evening will be lockdown for my eggs! I am going to try the egg carton hatch method again, it keeps the mess contained and prevents the chicks from rolling each other over as they hatch.

That said, say a prayer if you feel led to...my allergic hives are back and worse than before so I'll be heading into urgent care to see what they think. All this push to natural ingredients has companies using citrus in everything which I am highly allergic to. Yuck

Kiddo and Marble last night. He does not pay her much attention, he trusts the fence will keep everyone safe.

Lots of wattles in this image, but none of them want wattle rubs
Praying for your body and relief from the allergies. 🙏

:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy:jumpyThe first chick has hatched!! It hatched around 8 am. It is a very strong and robust chick. When I shined the light on it a few minutes ago it stood straight up and loudly voiced it's opinion about the world so far. I suspected when I first saw it still very wet that it did not look black. Mom argued it was black as night. It is partially dry and I was right, the first one out is BLUE!!:yesss::wee. My goodness the relief I felt when I saw those silvery down feathers. I did not realize just how much anticipation, excitement and a little bit of worry had built up since the moment I realized Davy was blue and blue chicks were a possibility. I just hope the rest of the hatch goes smoothly now. The pressure is off I have my blue chick, anymore that hatch are icing on the cake. I am going to mark this one with a tiny zip tie when I remove it from the incubator. This one is mine and not going anywhere.

I love her funky comb it makes her look so cute!
Jaffara is wondering why she hasn’t heard anything from Sir Jaffar lately. I’m so sorry that she will be disappointed 😢. Sir Jaffar is in another realm, fighting for justice, and dignity, yielding a flaming sword ⚔️!

I’d call that chick 🐣 “Uno”

I present to everyone, Bluey.
Rosie got to name it as a early birthday present.
