Ok maybe not ‘these’ ladies, but Azure - they are hilarious fun little birds! And very friendly.

Highly recommend.

I do love blue eggs & definitely do love Leghorns ~ but for us we wouldn't do it again. Lost our blue XL (Sometimes Jumbo) egg layer, a sweet Blue Wheaten Ameraucana, at 3-yrs old. Her huge eggs were alarmingly big which I'm thinking didn't add to her longevity.

& our Leghorns had obstructed vision from floppy combs & sometimes layed LG eggs 8 days in a row ~ which doesn't sound healthy for only a 4 or 4-1/2 lb hen. Prolific egg layers have shorter lifespans. But on the other hand, we weren't looking for eggs, we just wanted pets that hopefully had healthier longevity. Leghorns or Leg hybrids are lovely temperament birds & we loved the one White we were gifted & the 2 Buff Legs we bought... but wouldn't do it again for the bird's sake to avoid their high volume production.

Azures are reportedly sweet birds (what Leg isn't an amazing bird?) but too prolific IMO for such a small bird reported at up to 300 eggs per/yr ~ I just know Legs or birds w/Leg history have many reproductive issues. Researchers have used Legs to study cancer because of Legs' high reproductive health issues.

I don’t recommend raising game birds until you have many years of experience with chickens. And hopefully many more years of life left, because your life will surely be cut shorter by raising them. They are like taxes, always in your face and pecking you to death at every turn!

Do you have any idea what breed of game bird variety they are? They have such an assortment of colors & feather patterns

I have no idea. I will try to get some better pictures of them tomorrow after I get back.
Then we can at least see all the colors that they have. Mama hen (nacho) is basically brown. I’m not sure who the daddy was.

My birds are tucked away in bed (in the coop) I counted them three times to make sure they were safe.
The littles are in a cuddle puddle and I imagine they’re all there.
I have a hard time keeping up with them all, so I have no idea how Kelly does it. That’s a lot of animals for her to tuck in at night!
