I'm eating a sorbetto while Sherlock gets his 1st doggie popsicle. He paced along with me the whole time I mowed the patch from the gate to the suburban. My legs are D-U-N...finished.

MS mowed the patch around the spruce trees. Chooks retreated to the shade of the olives
Mowing grass is rooting tootin good exercise!

Can’t wait for the riding mower to get fixed 😁

Hahaha even poor Mr LC is having issues in the wind - is it mean that I laugh at them?

Yes - you should have heard the whining here yesterday! They were trying to abscond with my cell phone and use my data on that! Beasts!

When I get a chance I am going to see if it's available here. I have been moving the rubber mats in the horses' stalls out into the aisleway. They get really disgusting with moisture trapped under them, I have had it with lifting them all the time to clean under them. I move Truly's out yesterday, they are disgusting and smelly, and they must weigh over 100lbs. At 5x7' and 1/2" thick they are not light! and darn nasty to move around, I use vise-grips to grab them and drag them around. Then I fold them over and tie the in place with some baling twine. If I had two people I would make a tube then shove a 2x4 through it to lift it. But with just me, I placed some rope through the fold, and tie it to the other end so it's a huge loop, then used the rope to drag the whole thing out of the stall. GROSS! it's very yucky. Only one more mat to go though. Of course the chooks want to help, which makes it take more time as I keep having to move them out of the road, yesterday one of the mats flipped back flat and almost clobbered poor Babe! She can move fast, that one can hahaha! And yet still she gets underfoot. Brats I tell you BRATS!

My iPhone is doing silly tricks on me today. Sorry

Run Improvements

I have been on “vacation” all week, and we got some improvements made to the chicken and duck runs.

Tired of having to duck or have our hats knocked off by the “low side” of the netting over the run, plus wanted to extend it over the duck run. So we built a big frame about 8” tall to hang it all the way across.

Sunshade tarp added. Used shade cloth this time, for more air movement and so it doesn’t fill up with water when it rains. It’s held on by a total of 20 tie downs, so hopefully will handle wind without the eyelets ripping out so easy.

Also finally got the blocks around the “duck pond” to help prevent mud and erosion. Had some gravel down but this will help even more.

Pony Sunday

I came across this story yesterday evening when I was watching 'Harry Wild' online. I noted this photo of a grey horse jumping a fence and so of course being a horse crazed fool I had to check it out. How I never heard of this horse before is beyond me!

Snowman and his cherished Hooman Harry DeLeyer

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowman_(horse)

What an awesome story, and that horse sure looks like he knew a good thing! Like my old stallion Indy, sounds like Snowman was a character who just enjoyed being with his Hoomans. Those horses are the ones worth their weight in gold ❤️
Rescue stories are the best 💕
