The mats are moved.... and I mowed some grass with the push mower - the riding mower is waiting for a part. I am pooped! Time to sit on my lawnchair and watch chickens, if I can find a place out of that cold wind! Brrr!

I see the chooks have all hunkered down in the sun away from the wind - smart birds! Was just watching a Turkey Vulture trying to soar about in the wind - they sure are masters of the sky!
I'm eating a sorbetto while Sherlock gets his 1st doggie popsicle. He paced along with me the whole time I mowed the patch from the gate to the suburban. My legs are D-U-N...finished.

MS mowed the patch around the spruce trees. Chooks retreated to the shade of the olives

I love watching them - they get buffeted a lot and just right themselves effortlessly!

The problem the pacers have is that the occupant of the box they want is above them and won't share
Tassels is definitely top hen, but she seems to think the more the merrier when she is broody. I guess because they are all coming to give her eggs to sit on.

I missed out on caturday.
Little Oliver yesterday morning.
I'm hoping to get his neutering done soon.
I'm praying someone will adopt him after it's done. There's a lady trying to help us. She's a nurse and runs a small cat rescue. Just neutering and trying to rehome them. She's a very special lady. 💕

Yes this one was just taking off from the neighbours, trying to get a thermal, I was afraid he would hit my trees! But he tilted sideways and soared between them just scraping through hahaha. The youngsters are hilarious when they are first learning to fly.

The chooks have learnt to ignore the turkey vultures but a hawk soared over the other day and they took to it, back inside. They know the difference between how the look and soar.

Not sure what set these guys off but they just all ran back here! They don’t like this high wind - they have a hard time seeing and hearing predators.

They ran to me, then the barn then down the fence to the sand pit they are digging up.

I will need to do something over there to stop them tearing up the grass, I don’t mind if they are under the tree there but now they have migrated out further. The soil is very sandy here and grass takes a while to take root.

Now they are back here hahaha poor Clyde is having issues with the wind buffeting him about 😆

The littlest chicklets getting a few minutes of sunshine and grass. They seem to like it

If that whitish one ends up being orange with a white tail, her name will be Cinnabun. I wanted to name my bantam hen that last year before the kiddo declared her name was "Shiba-san"

Put a ring of rocks or tree stumps/logs around it and then it will be decorative and you can let them tear up the grass inside the ring.
