I am finding this exhausting! The biggest excitement in The Chicken Palace at roosting time is who gets to get Maggie's spot squished up against the wall. And that is solely determined by who goes to bed first. Hang in there Bob, I have to believe it will settle down eventually!
I find it exhausting, too. I wish I knew what was going on, Bob, but at least nobody’s getting hurt.

Okay, so I came up with a new word/phrase.... ya know how people say... What the heck... WTH...? Well I say... What the Peck!? WTP!? Or as I did today on a group text with my siblings... we were talking about something and I said... Peck no!!! And this is how my real brother responded.... just like my brudda Bob! 😆 ... my responses are in blue...

I like it!!!

Thanks for the tour, Bob! Hershey looks like a lovely town. Why were there so many school buses? On the note of cars... remember my light blue XJ? We donated it and Kars-4-Kids came to get it today. Here is its empty spot. LOL.

Anyone else wanna jump in there and have a good dust bath?
I mean - lead the Chickens over for some fervent digging n writhing?

He's not going anywhere tonight. He's sitting comfortably in front of the TV. (Old habits I guess)
I'm sorry Bob.:idunno
Well he may not quite qualify as an “emotional support” animal, but if it weren’t for customs and the border situation I would certainly lend you Chickie Hawk... he would have those girls up and roosting in order in two days flat. But that would likely be the end of your stint as Rooster Bob, he’s not the sharing type. And he’s a jerk to people. Then we would all miss out on all your lovely posts. Sorry... no can do. I couldn’t deprive us all like that!

Same here, Bob. I’ve gone a little over the top. When I walk around a grocery store, I just see dead animals everywhere. Dead animals that probably had horrible lives. And eggs and dairy from animals that also had horrible lives. Then I think about the fact that it’s one store in one small town of one state... and then I feel terrible that my tiny part of not partaking in the cruelty doesn’t make a lick of difference.
And sometimes the soapbox just slides right under your feet... ooops

NO, your “tiny” part of not partaking in the cruelty makes a difference. Not a huge one, true, but it does make a small difference, and every person you encourage to shop local, know their farmer, and support sustainable and ethical practices makes another small difference. One day, enough of those “small” differences will add up to an actual change in industry practices. If enough people commit to small changes then big changes will one day result. Don’t minimize your contribution to this. It takes Millions of small changes to produce a big one. Every little step matters!

sorry... (puts soapbox away) couldn’t help myself that time.

Thank you. That makes me feel better.

Well here we go @BY Bob I’m sorry I may have started this on your thread but... here is my entry for the “ugliest chicken coop” contest!

first order of business was clearing out the dinette foam, old mattresses, cutlery, and curtains

Then removing glass mirrors and reinforcing the floor which had spongy spots that threatened to collapse under me. And throwing a secure ing layer of plywood over the dinette as well. It turns out this is a two and a half sheets of plywood and a three day project. Tomorrow I have to install the roosts, tarp the stove and fridge off, figure out how to actually secure the door as day 1’s moving seem to have thrown all the doors out of alignment. I also screwed every door and hatch shut as well, because chickens are clever.

I can just see Sammy with a Rum and coke in a tight t shirt, Dean in an ugly Hawaiian shirt smoking, and Cass with coke bottle Glasses trying to lure my cats away. If you don’t understand the references, I promise the source material really isn’t worth watching! Not all my friends have good taste when it comes to entertainment...

Poor Lilly! Bob, I’d wait and see. She will self-limit her activity. Nothing appears to be a major injury, but she’s definitely sore. Poor baby. If she does end up needing intervention, do you know how to make a sling? I don’t think she’ll need it, but you could do s quick mental exercise of making sure you’re ready for that, just in case. Even shoving a laundry basket through a tee shirt and cutting holes can work. But then you need to have feed and water within reach. Individual serving yogurt cups and zip ties can work for that.
Last time it happened she self limited until she was better. I'd like to make certain it's not a bumble foot or something like that which does need taken care of. I will try and watch her today. Most likely I'll just pluck her off the roost tonight to be safe when Mrs BY Bob is home to assist. .
