Also Delft gave me a warning peck for each egg I grabbed to inspect. Just a gentle little "hey now"
It was too early to tell, the lightest eggs had clear veining but the rest I could not see into.
She gets a little confused after her daily ritual but I've been able to move her back quickly enough that the eggs aren't cooled off.
I was talking to hubby, this is as much a test of the tall nestboxes as a potential brooding space as it is of Delft raising eggs. I will have valuable information no matter the outcome...but these babies would be nice. I will also be able to close off her stall when it comes lockdown time. Maybe even the whole "box"
