Wet your whistle Wednesday (aka Coffee Wednesday)

Spent some quality time Sunday morning with mama and a silkie chicks- they are very industrious!

Who is the fluffy legged zebra stripes? What breed is she?

Sylvie went and had a stylish bob-cut.
The Sylvie bob cut is all the rage this fall apparently!
The fluffy legged zebra is Geronimo! She has really changed the most from day 1 when she was all brown with a spot on the top of her head. I believe she must be the Golden Cuckoo Marans. The shawl around her neck is the golden part.

As promised, more pics

Matilda on the left, almost as dainty as Arabel, Shan's fluffy butt, Hetty's scruffy butt, Blurr's tail, and Hawthorn and Mortimer in the brush pile.

Matilda is quite independent, thank you very much, and won't hold still for pics unless she runs and stops just in time for a tree to cut half of her off, or is in the tall grass adventuring. She never met Twirp, but the spirit lives on.

Cheetah's tail isn't quite there, but he's only got 2 feathers to lose to get there. Hawthorne's tail is still growing slow, so comes close to hers Sylvie...in about 2 weeks.

Geronimo is looking stunning!

A always, love your pictures. Am very taken with Koonj - those legs go on for forever!

Q: When’s the best time to plant a tree?
A: Twenty years ago!

I love to garden and plant things. I have the patience, I just don’t know that I’ll be around in 20 years! Plant it for the next generation, right? But I do have other trees I’d rather plant in the space I have.

Tax: Barnevelder egg

I have made eggs like this: take a white egg dye it brown and in a mixture of glue and black pepper dip carefully and repeat!

She really is very interesting looking with those sort of stripes and the shawl around her neck. I don't believe she will be a small hen, so she may have to moderate her running take-off over time, but she is definitely still quite feisty and independent.
Geronimo and Cookie are always the two off to no good high up in the bushes. But I think Chippy is the boss of the Littles. Not 100% sure of that, but I think so.
Well of course Tassels is the boss of the Littles in reality and so far shows no sign of loosening her hold on them!

I brought one of my Rockettes into the house. She’s got no tail left and has lost the bulk of her body feathering. I have been explaining to her that it’s (molting)a normal part of being a chicken. That’s three of the Rockettes molting at the same time. She ate some salmon and string cheese I had in the fridge.
I told her that I still have a scarf that Sir Jaffar used to enjoy wearing if she gets cold. I really miss that little ball of personality!!
