Sorry, shouldn't be laughing, but the whole mental image: screaming chooks, "go to bed! Screaming Kelly....snag a chook...turn about step on rat, screaming/dancing (high stepping) Kelly, chook getting swung about at ends of twin flailing arms...more screaming chooks, feathers and chooks bouncing all over...rat tail disappearing into a hole.... all in Looney Toons animation...

Why aren't her cameras running when we could use them?

Yep that pretty much captures it!

I just checked barn cams and don’t see it tonight, likely scares the living daylights out of it! Good!

Why aren't her cameras running when we could use them?

I don’t have that camera on a NVR. I really should get one - I was thinking that.

It’s rather Laurel and Hardy-esk in the Hen House when Cayenne and Little Mouse keep trying to fly up on my head.

That cam does have an NVR and I should grab that footage next time.

But I am way more careful of those two since the time last month when Cayenne flew up on my face and slashed my lip. Now I put those two in HH-A while I count heads.

How pretty they are!

I love those Azure I would have loved to have got those to shove under Georgie, but it’s such a worry about their reproductive issues, esp after losing Twister now. Hopefully the Noirans will be more hardy in that issue and not lay so many eggs.

Those are the only two remaining now.

Close encounter of the third kind

The chooks were just bonkers tonight, I had a devil of a time getting everyone settled. Even the silkie babies where causing grief, running out the door when I was trying to get everyone in.

They were all carrying in squawking so much and just creating such drama and havoc. Finally o turned of all the lights hoping they would settle down by Marty and Whiskers just kept it up causing everyone to also just keep it up.

I grabbed Whiskers to put her in her crate and turned to walk and tripped over a blooming big RAT.

I dropped Whiskers (sorry girl), and screamed ‘OH MY GAWD ITS A RAT’ which set everyone off squawking again… with me screaming along with them.

Poor rat likely almost had heart failure, in retrospect I should have stomped on the blighter, but the shock of it all freaked me out.

So that’s what the chooks were all carrying on about.

Once Rat ran off I was able to put Whiskers in her crate with her babies and chase everyone to bed.

Time to go and set a couple of traps. The rat must go, my poor heart can’t handle the stress of another encounter!

They were probably bonkers knowing the rat was there before you saw it They know things way before we do. Ours know there's a cat on the wall way before I see it.

Underneath those beautiful feathers, he’s all muscle, but he still lets me pick him up, and spend time in the house. He’s a good rooster.
