We were in the 80'sF again today. Our neighbor ... the Pasadena Rose Parade ... promises another sunny New Yrs Day for their forthcoming festivities. The floats out of flowers are truly spectacular.

When I was 10 yrs old (1954) we went in person to stand on the sidewalk to watch 3 hours of floats, bands, & equestrian units parade before us... never again... too tiring! I'll watch it on my laptop at home in the comfort of a chair w/ a warm Silkie by my side & a cup of hot cocoa w/my breakfast.

You’re only 81! The neighbor I caregive to is 88. She can outthink me, out strategize me, and at times, out maneuver me! :old

The body ages but our minds are still 16!

My sis is 91, cranky, blind in one eye, has a bum leg, slipped lumbar disc, & needs live-in care, but her mind is sharp as a tack! Our Mom lived to 98.

On the farm sis was my caretaker starting when she was only 10. Farmlife turns you into a responsible adult before your time. Hard to imagine sis is only 10 yrs old in these old pics w/me a baby.
