Cameras are functioning today, I plugged the deicer into a different outlet. Also ordered a lower wattage one - hopefully that helps.

Snow is still happening but not as heavy. I feel for the horses, but they just do not like being inside.

I am thinking of closing off the back part of the barn, so the horses can have a run in area.

I say thinking of it because I don’t want to have any issues with them sliding around on the flooring and getting injured. Snowy hooves on brick and rubber mats are like skates….

@kattabelly

I am sending you some of my snow to enjoy. Don’t worry it’s not terribly cold here only -5C, you’ll enjoy it! Is 30cm a good amount ? I can send more, but want to keep a bit for the farmers’ field moisture. Let me know 😉

Maybe a couple of feet to allow for some melting in transit? Only if you can spare it if course, wouldn't want to leave you short :p It's been nice and dry here today and tomorrow is even supposed to be sunny but I'm sure I'll be glad of a respite from yet more rain by the time it arrives :lol:

Would you like any wind in exchange?
Gosh that speckled one is so unusual! They are lovely.
That's my Fayoumi who didn't get the message about being a really flighty breed. She's a funny wee thing. Very inquisitive and independent but not at all shy about flying onto my head or investigating my pockets if she thinks I might have something good.

Riddick is just a black void in the snow

This big guy is Dutch, after dutch cocoa. He's the biggest of the chocolate orpington boys

Dutch far right, Hershey in the middle, and Blackberry middle left.

Blackberry, named after his comb. He's got streaks of orange in his feathers and he lets me pick him up and carry him around. He wasn't keen on being tucked into my coat like Vuitton enjoys though.

Diva has frostbite. :( she screamed when another bird bumped into her comb. From what I've seen I may need to trim the tips so they don't painfully rot off. I'll do more research.

Doesn't this marshmallow look so much like Samara? View attachment 4264617
Where the youngsters like to hang out. They have a food bowl under there and there's a heated waterer around the corner on the back porch. That's Hooky on the left, she's doing wonderfully after her trim. And the darker red boy next to Blackberry is Rusty. He's silkie/polish and crowing like a maniac.
Re: frostbite

DO NOT TOUCH. It's incredibly painful and is best left alone to process on its own.
