So the county I live in is very rural. There is a Facebook page for the county where people can post looking for local recommendations on anything, road conditions, power outages, lost pets that sort of thing.

We have had a Emu running loose in the county for several months now. He belongs to an elderly couple who own a local feed mill. He was also not handled for YEARS and is beyond wild. Several people have contacted local animal parks, but no one wants to help, because how the heck do you catch an Emu?!

I have not heard of this. That's awesome! I thought they were warm weather animals. I don't know why, I just did.

Someday Gus will get your revenge for you. It will be served cold. [Cue evil laugh]
But that wouldn’t end well for him and he is so sweet... I wouldn’t want him to take that fall. But laughing at him terrifying the annoying millennial (more the attitude and less the age group, because it technically includes me) Cousin in Law or the thought of him accidentally curing the BIL issue is quite grand.

Good idea but I already tried that. She just asserts herself back to her alpha status
Alex... the spare bedroom doesn’t count as crating, that’s only rewarding the negative behavior (I jest!) I think it wouldn’t hurt for you to look for some more hens, maybe rescues or girls in need of a good home? I hesitate to say rescues as I know all too well how quickly that heads to more heartbreak. :hugs

Thanks, we got the caliper replaced and made it halfway down the farm before the seal blew on it. (The brand new caliper!) so we decided best course of action was to just take her into the local shop now that the island has a mechanic again. Good thing because we are not equipped to deal with replacing all the brake lines and rotors here. Heck, I’m lucky if I can find a safe place to change a tire when I get a flat!
I wish I lived closer, I could have done all that for you. I did it on the 85 convertible a few years back. Including new master cylinder. Had a bear of a time bleeding the whole system but I got it done.

I even "lol-ed" it, and I definitely agree with you two. I was just so pleased to see something from @WhoDatChick!
:hugs..... to be clear.. I do love them! Here they are for those of you who haven’t seen them in awhile....

I'm so glad the truck is working again. Woohoo!
Oh, she was working great... the soft growl of the small blockV8, she loves a good load, just look at that rake! Draws the line at 2 yards of wet sand though; Just not stopping so well, which is a slight issue with our “little” hills.

Kris, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. I can't imagine how painful it must be to find out that way as well. :hugs:hugs
Thank you, and everyone else who commented as well, I just wanted to let everyone know why I dropped off again for a bit, I was doing so well at keeping up! Also if anyone is feeling more down, or in need, please reach out... these are very hard times for many of us... not counting all those introverts dancing in the background ;) Of which I am assuredly one, but even I can admit I’m starting to miss spending time with people, in person, even ones I don’t know so well!
