Oh, right. I just realized nobody answered the question. Thanks, Bob. I think I have a photo of Rusty doing it. I’ll try to find it...
I have photos of Daisy, the greatest hen ever, in the penguin right before she passed. I went to go looking for one and it was too painful to see her that way. I couldn't do it. I'm sorry. Hopefully you can find one for them. 😢

Good news on both fronts! I am walking mostly normally again, but very delicately, and I have trouble reaching for things in front of me and standing for long periods, but the back is getting better.

Even better news, all 40 chickens showed up for bedtime last night! I have no idea where they went, we scoured the area, I kept the free range flock in later than usual yesterday morning hoping the missing pair would show up trying to get into feed and their friends. Nothing in the morning except four fluffy black bum feathers eventually found mid field. No one ran to greet the flock when I released them either. Everyone got a stern talking to about bedtime and coming home to roost.
I'm so glad on both fronts. Sounds like you had a great day. Well deserved!
:thumbsup

Thank you. That would be pretty far along then, as MJ indicated. Poor things!
Daisy, the greatest hen ever, started to penguin 3 days before she passed. I forced myself to find you a photo so you can really learn what it looks like. Ironically on her last day she was walking normally. 😢😢

They look like this. This is Daisy at the end with Lilly. 😭😭

Aww. Poor Daisy the greatest hen ever. Thank you for posting this so people can learn, even though it was painful to do so.

Where was BY Bob?

@CrazyChookChookLady
texted me on Friday, @micstrachan reached out here. I have been quite absent this weekend. I am only caught up on this thread. I'll be days digging out on everyone else's threads.

What could drive me to fall so far behind?

COVID

The good news I did not have it.

The bad news is that my youngest daughter and her fiance decided that since they will likely not be able to have their dream wedding in Amalfi in April, they were going a have a simple, civil, ceremony at their house on Saturday. We drove out Thursday, prepped all day Friday, had the ceremony Saturday afternoon, and drove home today. A bit of a whirlwind, but we pulled it off.

Here we are with my daughter and her new husband.

The cake was a gift from one of their friends despite the fact that she could not attend. She made it herself as her gift to them. The only people present for the wedding were the parents of the bride and groom and the officiant. None-the-less, we made a great day of it.

It's just so hard to see her that way. I had actually forgotten how bad it was, maybe blocked it from my memory is a better explanation. When she started to penguin the discussions started about helping her along. A few days later she made the decision for us.

Here she is walking fairly normally right before the end.
