Surprise
Tuesday was a cold rainy day here. I had a lot to get done in the morning but come afternoon I thought I would let the ladies out for a little free range in between the showers.
As I walked to the coop I noticed that nobody was bawking at me in excitement. I thought that was odd but I did not really wonder what it meant.
I opened the side door next to their porch, no sign of the ladies.
I opened the door under the coop, no sign of them but I heard some clucking. I thought, "Ok, they must be hanging out inside the coop. I don't blame them in this yucky weather."
I then went to open the big run and there they were, all 4 dust bathing together. I was actually startled. They looked at me like what are you doing here. I felt like I had intruded and frankly apologized to them and left. I did not even think to get a picture! I felt so bad for interrupting their "special" bath time.
I did not see them come out until almost dark. They came over to the big coop for some human food and then went to bed.
I still feel like I have seen something that I should not have.![]()
