This is very exciting!Several of mine too, except Jaffar. And I have had good luck. I know the hatchery where they come from.
You ever do the movie theater thing for the midnight showing of some big film? What sort of breeds do they have coming in? If I was really determined to get them I would probably get there before they open and lurk in the parking lot. When I think of all the days I spent lined up outside a video game store on release day...![]()
I'm so proud of both of you! You both handled this exceptionally well.Yes, couldn't have asked for a better outcome with the integration! Queenie maneuvers well, knows her place, knows where everyone is and where she can step, where to avoid. I can see her judging it. Like today, it doesn't stop her from hanging in there and grabbing a bunch opf mealyworms real quick! She eats peacefully alongside everyone, and every now and then submits to a light or not-so-light peck (Hazel), or keeps herself very still, head down, when she gets a long stare from someone (that would be Butters). So far so good!
A warm day here so the crew are tucking into some homemade frozen corn treats, a natural yoghurt pop and some frozen mango pieces ☺

Bathing beauties.Wow. They are all sun-bathing!
It’s like they’re at the Boardwalk. Lol.
So cute! Great pictures.![]()
She is a true beauty!I must confess, I have the most gorgeous Little Rock’s-Anne, sleeping in her bed right next to mine. When it gets cold out, she catches a chill. (We can’t have that) so she’s in with me for the night). I bet she makes me breakfast in the morning too! View attachment 2500650
Profit at what cost. We need to educate more people whenever possible. The amount they are saving on eggs is simply just not enough to justify the ethics. I doubt they truly know what the conditions are.So true. I was a pastry chef for 18 years and as far as big wholesale businesses go the boss will buy the cheap bulk boxes of cage eggs over eggs that have been laid by happy hens everytime. It means more profit for them if they are saving on raw material costs. It’s very sad![]()
Let me think on this Kris. I'm not certain what to tell you right now.Alright, so I got a little video and one picture of Roostie’s foot today, I’m not sure if this video is the one where I say “I’m down below 10%” battery life on my phone, but there were some more detailed pictures planned with DH’s help. Needless to say he picked Roostie up for them and my phone promptly died. I would love some suggestions on what to do from here
As you can see, He’s walking about Much better than before his ten day course of amoxicillin, has been mating his girls again, and is even getting feisty and willing to have little showdowns with the other Roosters (as long as there’s a fence to keep him safe!). The swelling seems to have gone down some, but his foot is still quite swollen. There isn’t any heat to the foot now though, as I would expect in an infection.View attachment 2500674
So the question is where to go from here? I can’t really justify or afford to spend another couple hundred dollars to see that vet again. I do have the AmoxyTyl now that I could give to him, basically continuing the antibiotic treatment... and the weather is swinging into another cold snap so foot soaks are probably still out of the question for the near future. Open to advice...
Good night Alex. Have a good night with your lady.Good night friends![]()
