So I get wheezy and snuffles from the cats. I got an inhaler and a nasal thingy that helps, but mostly if it gets too bad I stop cuddling them and go outside in the fresh air.
Would lip salve help to create a barrier between your lips and the cat?

Yes.. going outside helps! And I do try and keep something on my lips.. lotion seems to help without allow cat hair to stick

You could try makeup wipes, or eyelid cleaning pads. Get a Sphynx cat! I also have an interesting fact, that male cats, and black cats, have or shed more of that chemical that people are allergic to.

Oh that reminded me of something a friend tried that worked - there are wipes for the cats. I cannot remember the name - it may come to me when I stop thinking about it. They are cat-safe wipes that inhibited the dander production - when she was petting them.
