I love that they are such fliers. They are birds after all. 😁
Yeah fair point! They're easily the best of my birds... it's so funny to watch them take off when they're out free ranging and all the others attempt to follow; but with them it's more of a run with the wings going 100mph!

Love Lilly!
Is that today that she is out on the porch? I am back in full on blizzard conditions so weighing up whether to wade, slide, dig my way through it as they likely won't venture out anyway. Is the storm back with you and @CrazyChookChookLady also?
No blizzard here. Just a light snow. Not expecting much.

I'm so sorry you are getting it again.

That picture of Lilly i think is from Wednesday. I saved it for Friday.

I just love the run flap. Cracks me up every time. Especially when Hattie, my orpington does it. Her wings are kind of stubby compared to her body. šŸ˜† 🤣 šŸ˜‚

It kinda looks like a plane trying (emphasis on the trying) to take off...! Oh sweet, I guess that's because they're bigger birds. The light sussexs also really struggle with flapping because they're pretty huge compared to most of my others but that never stops them trying :lau

How about some fuzzy butts for Friday?
Does that count?

I just had some light snow overnight. I was just a coating and now it's above freezing, so lots of snow melting now.

They especially count! šŸ˜

I preparation for induction into the Fluffy Butt Society, I will need a photo of everyone's fluffy butt. Once I have that, I will schedule the induction ceremony. Along with everyone's names so they can be entered into the roll.

Friends, I have a problem and would love advice. Apologies for the lengthy post.

Ethyl has been poorly. She has limped on her right leg on and off really her whole life (she is almost six months). Mostly it’s been okay, and has improved, but this week it got worse and the others attacked her so she has been in the sick bay for two days.

(Many mornings she comes to me to help her off the perch even though there are ladders and easy ways down—that no one uses lol. I always help her. But I think she’s been jumping lately.)

This morning I saw that, overnight, she laid two tiny, soft eggs. These are her first.

Obviously she needs calcium (the other layers are fine, not sure what’s afoot here) although they all have shell out and all that. But also I am wondering if this might affect her leg.

I’m going to give her a warm bath this morning. I was just hoping that you all would have more experience with something like this.

Tax (waiting to go back out)

Do you have any idea, just how hard it is to get six babies to line up and stand still for a picture? :barnie
