I really need help from you friends. Both groups of birds, required much quality time with me. Coco is sitting on this iPhone while I text this post

Maybe someone will have suggested this, SHRA, but why don't you bring them in with you or bring the Littles out there but either way keep them safely separated, and you can move back and forth between them, all hanging out together?

I went out and let the big birds do their free range chicken stuff. Happy note: their fluffy butts are just fine!

The Cold has Broken

It looks like winter's hold on us has been cracked. The coop has hit 40°F (4°C).

The snow is melting at a rapid pace after a night of rain and ice. There is a storm forecast for Thursday but they have switched it from all snow to another mixed bag of junk. There is a cold snap still in the forecast, a low of 16°F (-9°C) but it bounces right back to the 40s a day later.

If we could get some sun, free ranging won't be far away. 40° just feels amazing.

Not quite yet. Not until the littles are fully feathered, and I finish their safety coop/run. But, thanks for the idea

That is great. It is in the 40s here too and there is lots of melt - icicles are flying off the roof in a rather scary way.
However, we go into a deep freeze at midnight for 48 hours followed by snow on Thursday and Friday.
Based on Phyllis I am optimistic for the weekend!

The big birds prefer their barn/coop rather than their room in the house. The littles are in their brooder, when they aren’t hopping all over me.
