In theory I have 6 next boxes. But two of them are open at the front and nobody seems to like that. So they only use 4 of them, and there seems no pattern of who uses which box (up/down, left/right).
One of my worries about getting more chickens is not having enough nest boxes even though people seem to think that you can have 4-5 chickens per box.

I can't agree with those numbers. I have 6 hens and 3 nest boxes and only 2 nest boxes ever get used and they fight over the 1.

I had 5 nesting boxes, but had to open 2 of them to make them bigger as the girls wanted to use the same one! It's helped, but I've had some of my hens just lay their egg on the ground or on the floor of the coop when they couldn't get the box they wanted, even though there were open boxes! I sometimes wish I had more of them, but I'm not sure it would make any difference!

It's easy to figure that out...they want whichever one the first hen is sitting in...

Here's one of my girls getting a blow dry...she was sick and needed to be cleaned up...she seemed to enjoy it! I don't think my roosters would like it though!

That's it! I'm convinced I've got a bunch of complete hooligans now. There is no way they would put up with that.
