That is wonderful news!I’m pleased to report she absolutely scarfed down all her work scraps today! She even ran off with a quarter of a sandwich and didn’t come back until she scoffed the lot! She ate meat, fruit, cheese and made her excited clucks over the bread!
I’m doing the preventative coccidiosis treatment; in the water every four days during humid periods. They’re due some more tomorrow.
Hope many nest boxes do you have? I don't remember.Storm here in earnest this morning. I managed to get to the Chicken Palace (just) by sliding on a thin layer of snow over sheet ice. If there is enough snow it will be less treacherous tonight I hope.
Managed to get one shot for chicken tax.
“Hey, what ya doing down there?

It can be frightening when they dive into something like that.I did a little test today, to see just how ferocious the littles are. I made pork ribs last night, and saved the bones. I set the littles on the chick blanket, and presented them with a bone. Just like Velociraptors, they attacked it. As I watched them shredding the meat off of it, I began to worry. They started looking over at me as if to say “you’re next!”![]()

In theory I have 6 next boxes. But two of them are open at the front and nobody seems to like that. So they only use 4 of them, and there seems no pattern of who uses which box (up/down, left/right).Hope many nest boxes do you have? I don't remember.
For your own safety, never, never, never give them uncooked meat.I did a little test today, to see just how ferocious the littles are. I made pork ribs last night, and saved the bones.
