Keep working with her. It's there. It will come back. She remembers you kindly I'm sure of it.

Whew, I was so behind again.

Happy Equinox! Its almost over already, but better late than never. Today as I opened the door to leave for work I was greeted by a beautiful sunny morning, and all three ladies waiting to send me off (begging for treats,) as I reached to try and pet Rosie she squatted! First squat since last fall, spring is truly here, even if the rest of the day was a crazy mix of sun and storm with an icy wind!
Now I just have my annual hair cut left to do this evening...

Awwww..., Bob!!! What a breakthrough!!! I love this.

We’re actually having a cold March for California. Not a chance of a tee-shirt. We had frost three days THIS WEEK, when we normally only get 5-10 per YEAR.

However, I did cut the grass, which is more of a pasture. At this point there might be more clover than grass. Here are Flo and Ester enjoying it, with DH in the background (he’s about to take an eBike ride to the market 😆).

In other news, poor, sweet Dorothy appears to have another softie in the works:

She did get a calcium tablet. Too late for forming a shell on this one, but it might help her push it out. She also just got a drizzle of nutridrench in baby bird formula for an energy boost.

Finally, Little Mill’s abdomen was HUGE this morning, but I just checked it and it’s vastly reduced. Somehow her body absorbed or expelled the fluid? I’m grateful and will keep watching.

What else? Buttercup laid another fart/fairy egg today. Ester is warming back up to me, so perhaps might come back into lay, and Bridge spent some time in the nest box today.

Thanks for letting us share our chicken lives on your thread, Bob. I don’t know where else I could babble and my family gets tired of it.
I want a black chicken, as black as yours! :drool

Actually not much sleep, and my stomach has been upset with worrying. I haven’t been able to eat much lately either. Maybe I’m getting sick?
You've been under a lot of stress lately Alex. No wonder you are having tummy troubles and not sleeping well. :hugs
Try not to be too hard on yourself. Your tribe, neighbour's tribe and the cats need you now.
You have to put your oxygen mask on first. :hugs

I was thinking the pellets, to ferment with their layers and mash. But I managed to find small bales meant for chickens. If they are long I'll trim them down and add.

On reading up as I wrote previously, the leaves are the best part for chickens. It's good that I found some for now and will order on Monday. I'm in the UK by the way. :)
I didn't know that they made bales especially for chickens. Huh. I will have to look into that for my girls. Thanks for passing on the info Marie. 😊👍

I did just have a two hour nap. I shut off everything, even my phone. I never shut off my phone, but this time I had to. :th
The last week or would have been very tiring mentally, emotionally and physically. I'm glad you had a nap Alex. I was afraid that we would have to send Marie over there to sit on you to get you to lay down! (After she had turned off all your electrics and made you eat the nourishing meal she had made)
In hope you get some more solid sleep tonight. Give all the animals an extra pat and take care of yourself. ❤️
