I love Violet being nearly 6 but I miss every age that she’s passed and I will never experience again

I’ve finally caught up here and on MJ’s thread
We had our 7th wedding anniversary (15 years together) on Sunday (yes, the equinox! We were planning on getting married in Sweden on the spring equinox but settled for Healesville Sanctuary here in Vic on the autumnal one, long story!)
So that mixed in with a bit of rain and work being fatiguing emotionally/mentally I’m back and promise not to miss another mugs Monday!!

Everyone, there's someone I want you all to meet. Pickles has made her "crosses everything possible" way into the world. If she is indeed a she, she will be a permanent resident of my flock. And to think, I was worried I wouldn't be able to tell her apart from the pure Marans when they hatched, nope, got some of Momma's color to her after all. During my quick check I think she is clean legged.

That's really good!

Mine laid an egg on my lap last year. I was so worried about her, so brought her in for a little fuss and to check her over and out came this egg with another falling to the floor straight after. I didn't know that could happen, she gobbled it all up then ran out and was fit as a fiddle after that. As I have said, I'm only a learner here.

I've never seen that either! Wow!

First let me say how blessed I am to live in a time when we can share videos like this. It's wonderful to get at least some snippets of Eve.

I am so proud that she is being raised to understand chickens and speak their language. They say it is easier to learn a language when you are young.

She's a natural. Soon she will be going into her first moult!

Yes - I think that is right - it is a very tall turkey.

I don't think I've ever seen one that tall, that's why I was questioning!

I hope it isn't the victim of some BYC breeding experiment. A Turkey-Giraffe-X maybe?

Where was that escaped emu? Perhaps they have been cross breeding.
