Alright...gonna come clean here. I just joined BYC today, after spending countless hours over several weeks reading Fluffy Butt Acres.
No, I cannot claim to have read all 3000+ pages (but definitely several hundreds 😳), and I'm so grateful to have this message board as a resource.
So, thank you Bob and everyone!
Welcome to BYC. Pull up a roost and stay awhile! 🥰

I have mentioned that I was adapting a coop for Cillin who has been living in my house for over a month now. It's not that he isn't welcome but in the long run he needs his own coop if he isn't going to be able to go back to the tribe coop because of his son Treacle.
I also mentioned that I thought it likely that Mel would move with Cillin given the opportunity.
I haven't even finished the coop and look who's making themselves at home. :love

What a wonderful development! 🥰 You do know them so well!

Bringing bunnies is technically legal... (just like my goat!) however it is strongly discouraged. As in near-lynch mob discouraged. There are massive problems with them on Vancouver Island (a little less so after a recent bunny plague that wiped out tons of the population). I will admit to mentioning the questionable pet choice to a really obnoxious opinionated FB loudmouth in a PM, lol.

Some sad news on the Roostie front. Yesterday he got into a fuss with Sammy and his left eye appears injured. It must’ve happened while I was doing dishes and couldn’t hear it over the generator. I am moving him to a corner and fencing him in. I will keep everyone updated as I can.
How is his foot? Did you ever do surgery on it?

It's very difficult to describe. The aim is to lift the the flexible bit at the rear end, but gently push towards the head of the chicken.
Yes you can feel the vertebrae. I've tried to feel a few of the others to see if I can detect a difference by touch. I'm going to see Mohammed after Easter to make sure I'm doing it right.
I did a fifteen minute session this morning. Whether it's the massage, or the Metacam, or a combination of both I don't know, but she was active again today and I didn't see her fall over and I've been out with her in view most of the day.
Wonderful development. I hope this provides a little more good chicken time for her. You are a good man to help her so. :hugs :hugs
