Ok, this is not chicken related, but would you believe we’re expected to get down into the 30’s the next two nights? It’s usually a little cooler here than the forecast at night, so maybe close to freezing. So bizarre! This is California in late April. Chickens like the cooler weather (except for the cold mornings), but my tomato plants will not. I was running around looking for anything to cover them with. My tomato cages are too tall to put large trash bags over. My garden looks like a garbage dump at the moment with all the little tomato plant forts. LOL.

I'm probably too late, but bed sheets work great for covering large garden areas! I've had to do this more times then I'd like to remember.

Thanks. I found that one and another, dumped on my property. I’m raising them as my own now. That picture was taken this morning, in my chicken room. I like to train them young to be snuggling chickens.
Then they grow up to do this... DF3622DB-5D0C-418E-81BE-FDB72D6CC26A.jpeg

Fat Bird thinking about having a bit of a sit.
I'm very surprised at just how well she has managed to cope with her back problems. Yes she still staggers from time to time but she has enough control over her balance and legs to jump down from the chair onto the concrete floor.
The floor doesn't provide any grip as such and even the youngsters skid about on it if they don't take care. I watched Fat Bird hop down to the floor from the chair today and while it wasn't what one would call delicate, she kept upright and both legs together.

I feel like I'm on repeat, but...
Awww! Fatbird! :love

Although I wish she hadn't endured any suffering, her will and strength have been wonderful to follow
