One of my favourite pictures. This is Notch. For me the picture sums up my vision of chicken keeping. Not a fence in sight and Notch surveying the world from his vantage point on the edge of the jungle. Okay, not quite a proper jungle, but he isn't quite a feral rooster.:)

Gorgeous! And good to see you back. Hope things are at least somewhat OK with you.

I won't be around for a while, unless my cat comes home. He never strays anymore he's a real mother's boy.

This is only in my mind because someone threatened my dog and my life twice, he told me not to speak to his family. But his step son seems fond of me and spoke to me two days ago, then this mans dog ran away again yesterday and his two sons spoke to me as they found him.
Now my cat has been missing for the entire day.
This man walked past as I was asking and my next door but one neighbour to keep an eye out for him. The lunatic stopped to stare at this man as he was going up his steps.

Sorry just my mind is racing feeling very sad and deeply worried.

I hope your cat comes back, and that you all are safe! :fl

I know this sounds icky but have you tried bug hunting for her? When Maggie was like that she would only eat things that were alive so I found bugs and flies and moths and worms and grubs for her.
Just a thought.
Yes, I bought live meal worms. Today she ate dry meal worms and saw an earwig nearby. Grabbed the earwig and tossed it in her direction. She made a contented chortle and inhaled it. Thanks for the reminder; I should get her some crickets.

I will try and gather some this weekend - it is a bit late but hopefully can find some - they are (I think) biennial which means they won't flower the first year and then new ones grow from seed and as you can see they are prolific re-seeders.
I will let you know how I get on.
You are very sweet! Thank you.

Does that person have a history of violence? Do you know of any?

In my Ee studies sometimes the head color can vary. From her chick down and body she appears silver based. I'm not sure what controls the head colors, but it it was probably something added on top. I think most silver birds have a lighter head.
This is fascinating.
