Most times I'm out there with the first thing handy to grab, either a hoe or shovel. But there have been times a shot gun is needed. Possums and Raccoons are one such instance.
I once took on a huge skunk with only my body. It tried to get Daisy, the greatest hen ever, and I did not think, I acted.

Thanks so much. I am looking to put mine in the coop to help with the high heat while Phyllis is setting. I am hopeful it will get here before the heat explode again. :fl
Oh, cool! So you got the missing one? Did you get it during the sale? The mist is quite fine so it’s not gonna get everything all wet or anything.

I need to catch up, and I will. It’s already 86° here and it’s only 10 AM. I need to start cooling down the chicken area. Yesterday I had to take my hubby to the ER at around 1 PM. Ended up picking up at around midnight. He crushed his pinky finger in a trailer accident. They had to wait for the hand surgeon who had to rebuild his finger. Ouch!

Yes, I ordered the fan during the sale, the misting one. I already have an electric fan cooling the coop but I wanted the mist to help lower the temp during the day.

Oh no! How is he doing today?

Hello, I have been following this thread since before I officially joined BYC and I love it!
I thought I might introduce myself with a fluffy bum photo of my alpha hen, Annie and a side shot too. Now if I can figure out how to do that 😂!

I have a mixed flock of ten one year old hens in northwestern Canada. I purposely chose not to get production breeds in the hope that they might have longer lives without realizing that dual purpose equals broody, at least in my case! I am on my eight broody of the summer right now!
