Annie has lovely fluff. She is gorgeous. Will you introduce us to the rest of your tribe?Hello, I have been following this thread since before I officially joined BYC and I love it!
I thought I might introduce myself with a fluffy bum photo of my alpha hen, Annie and a side shot too. Now if I can figure out how to do that!View attachment 2753274View attachment 2753273
I have a mixed flock of ten one year old hens in northwestern Canada. I purposely chose not to get production breeds in the hope that they might have longer lives without realizing that dual purpose equals broody, at least in my case! I am on my eight broody of the summer right now!
Hahaha, all good. You have done a lot of good things in your careerNo, don’t feel bad. I am not a teacher, but the executive assistant to the superintendent and board. I did work in a school office for six years before this job. I was a molecular biologist, but ended that career when my second child was born and stayed home for five years, being s mom, and volunteering in the school, which led to me working in the district.
So how about you? I don’t know what you do, either. So sorry!

This is Rema. I just noticed yesterday that her wattles are a different size. I wonder if that's common?

This is Rosa in front and Louise, the Buff Orpington. I have four BOs and Louise is the only one who has never been broody!

I think you're right with that approach. Those are really good photos. I just shoot and go back and look later. Usually something comes out and I delete the rest.
And I've been trying to wait around for the perfect shot. I think I'll have to change my style.Chicken photography: take 30 photos, throw away 29, maybe the 1 left over is ok (but not great).
At least, that's how it goes for me

Haha - Hey there's a hen with chicks! Is this a pic from some years ago, who is that, how many chicks are there? No wait - what's that on her back? Hey it's a planterThey change nothing in Bluey. It is the original Australian. Mum started from hanging with all the Aussies here years ago. Mrs BY Bob laughs at me now.
I seem to be susceptible to this. Years ago I started writing tyres because of all the F1 racing articles I was reading.
