Wonderful photos and beautiful ladies. My BO has never been broody and I always kind of hoped she would.

I love your automated coop door! How long have you had it?
I just got the auto door this summer. It's an Ador Door. It works great for letting the girls out in the mornings, but I have to close it manually at night because I live so far north that we still have blue skies at bedtime and the closing sensor isn't triggered. I can set it for a delayed opening, but not to close early. Once September rolls around this won't be a problem.
It is a bit tricky getting the girls to go to bed when the sun is still shining! I sometimes bribe them to go into the coop with raisins. I don't do it every night, but often enough that they stampede after me when I go in the coop in the evening just in case ☺️!

Accidents are caused by lack of concentration! I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m glad he can still count five fingers on that hand. I’m very lucky as well!View attachment 2753315
Thank you Alex. Yes, it was human error. When was your injury? Is that from the grease fire?

Hello, I have been following this thread since before I officially joined BYC and I love it!
I thought I might introduce myself with a fluffy bum photo of my alpha hen, Annie and a side shot too. Now if I can figure out how to do that 😂!View attachment 2753274View attachment 2753273
I have a mixed flock of ten one year old hens in northwestern Canada. I purposely chose not to get production breeds in the hope that they might have longer lives without realizing that dual purpose equals broody, at least in my case! I am on my eight broody of the summer right now!
Hello and welcome! Annie is beautiful!

I do so love the shape of leghorns, legbars and polish. They have a marvelous "U". The big tail makes it happen. 🥰
With a set-up like that I have to share how Dotty keeps her tail at full sail.

I have had the same door for 4 years I think. It works great down here in the south. 😆
