Post water she picked up greatly. There are electrolytes, probiotics, and dextrose in the water. Phyllis knew somehow and had her drink from it several times. she is looking much better now.

I am so happy for baby Sylvie, I hope she continues to thrive. Big hugs to everyone, including you and Mrs BY Bob.

Let it dry, then shake it out over the garden/compost heap. THEN wash it.

It's quite surprising just how clean a towel becomes after it's dry and knocked against a post or something.

Ummmm...me thinks you're still in camping mode, where pine needles in your food just means extra flavor.

This is an interesting point. Maybe if he tries it again someday, he could have them shipped somewhere more reliable and drive to get them.

Hopefully he won't.

No, I think that's wise. I thought I read the new coop wasn't needed now. Must have misread.

I really don't need it now for just 1 more chicken. But there it is. I'll use it to brood Sylvie but after that..... I don't really have a need. I could squeeze her in the main coop.

Thanks Shad. She has not evicted from under her but neither has she taken it out for a walk yet. I don't know what to make of that.

Is it possible she thinks she's got a day or two before she needs to worry about getting the chick fed as would normally be the case with a newly hatched little one? I'm asking out of total ignorance here.

This is possible.
