Have you tried introducing her to the idea of roosting on her own in the Chuckle Hut? At least she would be safe and not bullied.

Exactly my thought except "the Hut" is not finished. I had to remove the top door because of an issue with leaking water and of course, there were no roosts built into it yet as I gave up after I lost all the chicks.

There will be roosts, fully functional doors, feed, water, and latches all around by the end of the weekend. Maybe even some paint. I may need to move her in one night so she knows they are there but first they need built.

I went back in time to when the Roadrunners were just ten days old and just moved out to the brooder box in the coop.

This is very true. That was why I tried to get her chicks to raise. We all know how that turned out.

That was my thought - it is a dominance thing - I have a rather graphic video of Maggie apparently mating with a road runner. I think she is just exerting power and authority - but if you didn't know she laid eggs .. .. ..

It's alright, Carolyn died in a plane crash instantly, while coming to see me from Quebec. She was in school in Canada at the time. I met her in DC. yes it was love back then.

And if anyone is interested, little Xzit is hopping around like nothing is wrong. But I’m still taking her and Emily, and rocks-Anne in at the same time for checkups.
