Wow. I remember none of that.
I think you and I were thinking of the wrong book - probably Chocolat by Joanne Harris. @Blazinga is right - Like Water for Chocolate is altogether darker - it is set in Mexico during the revolution. I did enjoy it (haven't seen the movie) but it was a hard read.

Whether they truly are blue or lavenders, fluff balls they are. I am wondering though, Lavenders can have the feather shredding gene. While taking some more pictures tonight I noticed this girl. Her feathers look rough around the edges. She is almost 2 years old so I wonder if she is just getting ready to molt soon or if she is a lavender with the shredding gene.

Those do look like Hattie's feather shredders. I have a picture somewhere....... let me see.........

Here is beautiful Hattie. I will zoom in on the shredded feathers. She only gets them way on her back

Shredded feathers. These look different than your ladies. I think your's may be headed towards molting.

It’s 3:15 California time. No I can’t sleep. My decision to buy that property for 600,000$ Kinda makes me feel anxiety but it’s already a done deal. My money comes from good stock option decisions I have made (all because I wanted Chaco my horse).
I am glad for you that you are able to do this. I am certain that Chaco appreciates it.
