Thanks, Bob. I’m not even 100% if it’s true; I heard it from my other sister, but I’ll find out! That would be very cool. I am happy to be someone they can ask questions about the area if they would like. PM me and I will provide my contact info.

Umm… not graceful, but exceptionally adorable!Jumps or Flight?
Well it did not take long for them to get up on heat plate. Of course watch for the dismount and you can tell the difference between the two of them size wise. It is pretty dramatic. Silvie's dismount is not graceful.
Yes, very similar!!
Wait, you have a Flash, too? I missed that. Here is my Flash:Unlike Flash, I have to tear the cherry tomato a bit before they'll try it. Katydid likes to lick all the juices out and they nibble away at it as a group. Perhaps this will change when they are bigger, but watching them drink out of the tomato is amusing.
I remembered about Dora but I thought Twirp looked the part.My dorking, Dora, was killed by the dog, a foot outside the shelter of the russian olive trees. The 5 toes are rather distinctive. color wise, Dora's back was more grey than Twirp's. Twirp also has a light shaft in the dark lower neck/upper back feathers. Head and breast feathers are identical. Twirp also has an odd comb. She could be a Whiting True Blue or the Legbar, or a bitsa (odd coming directly from a hatchery, but Cuckoo came from there too and has really weird markings for a barred rock but dead on for a barred/pencilled rock cross). Twirp is being a classic lady, mysterious, playing her cards close to her breast.
Very shiny! Here’s my beautiful horse Chaco.View attachment 2823809View attachment 2823810
Thinking on long necks
These little ones seem to have much longer necks than Phyllis has ever displayed. You all saw the video.

I have developed a working theory on these necks. These Candy Corn Polish have barring to their feathers. They also have autosexing of chicks along with the barring gene. Perhaps that gene set also includes the gene for long necks as well. Checked out this barred hen with an enormous neck. Remember this photo?

I'm now picturing a mop top on that neck. Maybe something like this?

That was so interesting!I found this when I was researching them for Bob.
Hope the link works.
Hi KrisHi everyone! Great news, the house is scheduled to be closed in at the end of September. We’ve had some ups and downs here, but I’ve gotten a cell signal booster and can get back online a bit again. I just have to rewire things a bit for 12V. Still on our big to do list, the trailer: installing the diesel heater for winter, refurbishing the toilet and bathroom for winter, and requiring our solar system and replacing our batteries.
Arduinna gave me a huge scare, a week ago she broke out of her crate while I was out putting up the chickens, and ate a Remembrance Day poppy! I just finally found the pin today, with my foot, and have never been so thankful to step on a sharp object. She should be getting a domestic Sangeen (milk breed) boyfriend in December, and hopefully another doe friend. So a temporary under the tow pin of the 5th goat barn is also in the works (I’m still stockpiling my pallets, but have a rough design now).
Also, I’ve had quite a few broodies hatching out chicks, including a second round by all my first broodies to hatch out babies. One of which manages to set under my trusses, safe from the humans, but not from the mink or raccoons. Three weeks of worry over predators and she finally hatched out 11!!! Chicks. Getting them all out from the trusses was an adventure in gymnastics and through stinging nettle, but she’s safely set up now with all here babes in a meat tractor.
Apparently I still need to get a WiFi connection to upload pics though… sorry
