Speaking of Flash…

You know I tried to tube Flash a couple times. The first time was because I didn’t want to waste a syringeful of feed and her crop was empty. Other times were because she was starving herself. Well, I stopped since it was so stressful for her AND she was eating a tiny bit. But can I share a great outcome? The last three mornings I made time to sit with them for a few minutes in the run before work. All three days, Flash, who is a pretty nervous hen in general, came for lap cuddles, despite a hard molt! That is a first for me. I have lots of lap sitters, but they usually steer clear during molt. I have never had one come to me for comfort during molt!
How special is that! Despite the trauma of an unsuccessful tubing. They just know you are trying to help them. :love

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!
Great to see Fluffy Butt Acres on the home page.
it took me a moment to figure it out. I saw it and was going “I know that place. Why do I know that place?!”
So cool. It is a great article.
:wee:wee:wee
I guess I need to go to the home page!

This is very cool. I never guessed that this is what everyone was talking about!

I’d like to see that! Could make for a pretty cool coop!
We told the boys that if they wanted to get/install the new(rebuilt) engine, the one who did could have the vehicle. If they each get something else of their own, then I might. Other option is selling it for scrap metal (or possibly both: gut out the engine compartment for more space). If we did turn it into a coop, I'm thinking either geese or turkeys because the opening in current coop is too small (Rusty was pushing the limits as a 13 pound bird) and moving the hatch still wouldn't enable it to get any wider due to stud placements. Guard geese would be nice, but the "pond" would be difficult to create. Youngest kid is has a few years yet, so there's plenty of time to figure that one out. If we turned the carport into a coop, we could easily build to accommodate a mixed flock of all sorts of birds, but again, several years away so time to ponder.

That's Pear's fluff

And Twirp at the angle with Cheetah (NO fluff which is funny compared to Rusty's fluffy rooster butt), and Blanche (she looks like she'll be a day or two behind Splash and Nellie on the laying).
Castor is being classic cat and appearing to ignore them. Reality: he was watching warily every other lap of water.
