Tonight we had a mystery. Some yolk like substance was found on the bedding with no trace of a shell or membrane. Perhaps we have a layer on our hands? :confused:
Perhaps. You think the others may have eaten it?
 
In my experience, it makes them easier to peel. Also, you don't have to check how old the egg is before boiling it.

Try pricking the flat end of an egg before boiling it and see what you think. Any fine sharp pin will do. I used a small safety pin before I was given the egg pricking tool.
I think I will try it next time I hard boil some.

No worries! I was happy to but felt a little unsure of what was going on. One of those cultural terminology mismatches perhaps?
