I’m OK. I am just so sad for Bob and Mrs Bob. They both have such big hearts and this will hit them hard.

I know, and so soon after the first chick tragedy! I hope Phyllis and Sylvie will be close. :fl

BY Bob and Mrs. BY Bob you both have my deepest sympathies for the far too soon loss of Legertha. My heart has broke this morning reading of her passing. If there can be any silver lining in this tragedy, and I fully understand it being too soon to look for a silver lining is that now maybe Phyliss will truly get her BFF in sweet Sylvie.

Love and hugs sent your way, @BY Bob ...for you, your wife, and your lovely feathered friends.

I think the video of Lily is so telling about chickens. Knowing full well she is an iron beak kind of girl, what I saw was a gentle, tender moment of checking on sweet, scared Sylvie. May your remaining girls comfort you and Rose, and may you help comfort them. :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

There's been no head count on anybody else I'm afraid. Wondering about the Bigs. Lilly is alive and checked on Sylvie when she was in the Main Coop nestbox, Sylvie was no doubt catatonic from shock at that point. But she managed to get to the Hut to roost. Don't know about any others, it was daylight when Lilly checked. Don't know who else roosted there. Don't know if Legertha was cold when found, just that Mrs. ByBob did get her.
:hitLegertha we already miss you! :(

Hen-Reitta slept comfortably last night. I just fed her some scrambled eggs and meally worms for her breakfast. Now the hard part… taking her back outside into the cold of the morning fog. :( (She should be with her feathered buddies, not me)
Poor lady with the bad molt. :( 052473CC-9D7F-4D37-A787-9C812475DEC3.jpeg

Honestly the colder it gets the faster mine shed feathers.

I think Peanut is beginning a molt now that the temps went way down last week and now again. Tons of fluff feathers in the poop tray where for several days there were none. She's the only one who hasn't molted yet. Everyone else is in some stage of molt.
