I pray that you are wrong this time Alex and she pulls through. If she does pass though, I know she's going to pass in your loving arms and what better gift can you give her then to be with her as she crosses over. I know the poem "Rainbow Bridge" is mostly used for our furry friends, but I'd like to believe our feathered ones are waiting for us there as well.
That was beautiful

I just made some soft noodles and garlic. Onions and mushrooms, with ham and a scrambled egg. My dinner, but I tried giving some to Beethoven-Hen, and she actually ate what I gave her. (No mushrooms, or onions for her) it’s cold In here so I have her sitting on a low temperature heating pad. She seems comfortable. :fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl

I tend to feel great sympathy when someone loses a chook here. I want to try and show that sympathy but tend to fear putting my foot in it. That's why a stock phrase like "I'm sorry for your loss" is helpful to me. I can show my support without putting my foot in it and making things worse (hopefully).

Edit: I think you must owe some chicken tax by now Shad. Any new photos of your Ex-batts we haven't seen? How are they going over winter?

😍😍😍 What a magnificent picture! Beautiful.

Not strep? Very concerning. I’m no doctor. But I do wish him well. :fl:hugs
Thanks, Alex. I’m wondering if it’s an error. His symptoms are a perfect match for strep, which is how he was diagnosed in the first place. It probably doesn’t matter much if the penicillin takes care of it. However, strep is gram positive snd penicillin only kills gram positive bacteria, so if he doesn’t start improving, he’ll need a different med.
Yes, she was a Barred Rock. However, I thought she looked more like a clean legged Cuckoo Marans.

Alex, in case you are interested, wheatgrass is SUPER easy to grow yourself. Just buy organic wheat berries and sprout them. 😊 I give my girls sprouted wheat berries almost every day.

I saw that stuff in the market today, and said “maybe my babies might like some of this fresh grass?” When I shop, I always have my chickens in mind. Yep, I have the ( love my chickens too much) syndrome!!

Okay, next year, I will sprout up some wheat berries for my feathered family. Thank you
