Thanks, Alex. I’m wondering if it’s an error. His symptoms are a perfect match for strep, which is how he was diagnosed in the first place. It probably doesn’t matter much if the penicillin takes care of it. However, strep is gram positive snd penicillin only kills gram positive bacteria, so if he doesn’t start improving, he’ll need a different med.
Yes, she was a Barred Rock. However, I thought she looked more like a clean legged Cuckoo Marans.

To be positive they should do a culture not just one of those quick tests they do for Strep in emerg or a dr office. Sure hope he feels better, I had Scarlett fever few years ago when I had strep throat inection - Yee gads

I have never seen one of those cuckoo Marans, didn't realize they had a barred look. I am fond of spots and patterns very striking looking.

You are very right about that. My Drummie knew what the camera was and would strut and pose every time I had it out with me. It's been over 4 months since he passed and I still miss that boy dearly, but now I can look at his photo's and not break down in tears.

Sad News

Sansa passed away today. I just found her in the run. I will not be doing a necropsy. I really don't care why she passed. She was active and seemed fine, a few hours later she was gone.

Rest in Peace my friend.

Oh no Bob. I'm so sorry! What a shock for you.
If it's any consolation, I always think that these sorts of deaths, for any creature including people, are the best. No suffering, you just go to sleep and don't wake up. My Grandfather passed that way 40 years ago. A shock for us but good for him.
