@Bob - I spent some quality time with the gang doing predator watch while they scratches around some hay I threw out on the snow. Paranoid since seeing that Bald Eagle!!!!

Awww… wonderful memory. Maleficent is missed!A Memory
Everyone who reads here regularly will recognize that Aurora truly hates the snow. Well 3 years ago Aurora was not in charge. Her sister Maleficent was. So great was Maleficent's hold on her that Aurora would go out and explore the snow with her.

Mal always had that 1 tail feather that seemed out of place. So endearing.
And some rare video proof.

You are doing it wrong. (Come to feather head)Ya rub it in... Some of us are working on Freedom 95!!!
Tried 'retirement' a few years ago, thought I would spend the winter season n Yuma with parent, after 3 weeks I was bored senseless!
When work called asking if I was interested in a new project, and how fast I could be there my reply was ' I can be there tomorrow'![]()
Please, more music. My chickens have heard your songs and they started laying again. It’s the truth!!! PleaseAwww… wonderful memory. Maleficent is missed!
Crows are essential here. It would be awful if they started removing them. It's a nuanced license of permission and wildlife advocates are going to be watching the impact. Glad it's not here in the States, crows would be obliterated. The presence of crows is helpful to chickens and chicken-caretakers, I think. They patrol the skies and give warnings.
We could at least chase them.Maybe the sound of my airframe, and engine, might scare away the hawks?![]()
You really do. I would love to see it.Rain and now snow squalls, and yep icy! Even my chickies were sliding hahaha - they were running and sliding - oh man I need to figure out how to put video up hahahaha![]()
That's smart to do. It's best to be safe.@Bob - I spent some quality time with the gang doing predator watch while they scratches around some hay I threw out on the snow. Paranoid since seeing that Bald Eagle!!!!

She would have made a great alpha someday. Aurora was a better hen with her leadership.Awww… wonderful memory. Maleficent is missed!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's chickens are obsessed with the manure pile. I don't even want to know what they find in it to eat. I call my crew the landscaping committee. I can clean the stalls and start piling it up and as soon as the first wheelbarrow full is dumped there they are scratching it down. Bunny and Squirrel are smart, they hop up onto the load in the wheelbarrow to get first choice bits. They have me trained so well, they know if they hop up into it, I will give them a few minutes if I'm not in a rush to dig around before I dump it. They also know that if they are in the way dust bathing I will maneuver the heavy load around them so they do not have to move a inch. Spoiled brats!!Well there was a mad stampeed to the back door and everyone rush up Mount Poopmore.
The 12 week old chicks didn't stay out long though, I guess they r doing their 12 week molt and feel the cold more. The grey girls had to think about it also haha
