Ok ok maybe it's was more huuush huuush huuush... With a few swear words quietly thrown in .... It is afterall darn tootin cold!!!

I have an electric fence with six wires, but the snow is up to the top wire right now. I turned it off in November, but last summer I was letting the girls out of their fenced in area to dig up/destroy new ground and that was when I was feeling edgy about that fox. The girls are very good at alerting for aerial predators. I have never seen a dangerous bird before they have, but since they are used to our dogs, I wasn't sure if they would be as aware of the dangers of foxes.

Hmmm yes that would be a hard one, I would guess they might not feel threatened in this case. I am thinking of doing a covered run for my gang, but have yet the find a design I like....
 
Chickies all in bed, horses fed, and a big full moon out there. This time last night it was -20, now tonight it is -22C, it didn't break -30 last night, it might tonight.

Thinking it's time to get a heated poultry waterer, anyone have any preferences?
