I replied to your post about Tina but it was likely long after you went to bed. I was just sharing my experiene with a sprain type injury. It would be different if it was an infection like bumble foot for example.
Here is the reply I gave: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-25352918
Thank you :) this is the problem with us being on different times, we can tend to miss each other.

There's an update, before Mary managed too catch me, I'd already stated started treating her again, but thank goodness it's good news. I wiped her with warm water and colidial silver then reapplied the vaseline, a few hours later she seemed too have just a slight limp.
The past two days I put little turmeric and ginger in the feed I think that may have helped with any swelling. :)

I'm so worried that Betty will start roosting somewhere else. She is looking every night for somewhere other than by Phyllis. Then when she finally gets up successfully, Betty always scoots down next to Phyllis and Phyllis goes after her again. If I just separated the roost with wire for a few days they could see each other without the abuse.

I know, I know. Let them sort it out. It's so hard to a watch. 😔 Keep me on the right track @RoyalChick
Wire imo is the best idea. Seeing each other and being close they should adapt. It worked a treat for my girls :hugs

Can you put up a small 'wall' on the actual roost - something just tall enough to prevent her from physically getting too close to Phyllis, but can get next to her.

I do this with any new horses, they can see, touch, and be close to get used to each other but can't physically kick the other and if the one horse gets too aggressive the other horse can move away.

My gang has lots of drama at bedtime, I physically place them in spots to reduce sqwabbling .
As I said I was considering putting up some chicken wire to separate the roost.

Cats always look like drowned rats when you wash them 😁

Mine got sprayed by a skunk last Summer, three washings to get rid of the smell and she is long haired. Afterwards her coat was amazingly soft and silky tempting me to wash her weekly hahaha.
