Little Arizona has a new trick to make me get ready and take her outside. I didn’t put my socks and shoes on fast enough, so she learned to peck and bite my toes! (Yes it hurt a little, but it got my attention) and I hurried to get her outside. :barnie

Good morning Chaco! Nice and green there 🐎 happy Pony Sunday!

Good morning. It's early here but can't sleep. Too much going on today. Gotta finish the silkie coop and prep for my outpatient deal tomorrow. The rain frustrated our efforts yesterday but we made progress. Will get pictures later today as it will be sunny. Integrating the silkies together will be interesting as the 2 girls Silky and Itty Bitty are in different flocks and the rooster Viajito is an outsider we acquired around Thanksgiving.
I look forward to hearing how the integration goes. Please keep us updated.

Happy Pony Sunday, been saving this one since Friday. Dirt is the laziest horse and has several nap times a day. One of my neighbors once asked if it was normal for them to sleep laying down so much or was he sick.

And my Arab mare is the opposite, she wont lay down to sleep, in fact is sleep deprived, I watch her at night her legs buckle and she almost falls over. Infact she has fallen before and crashed through the wall into the stall next to her.

My vet thinks her hips and sacrum are painful and it's too sore to lay down. But I put her on horsey Celebrex for a month and no change. She will get down and roll outside then jump up and run of bucking.

I even gave her a double stall thinking she needed more room. But if my 16hh thoroughbred can lay down so should she!

I am finding chickens to be far less trouble than horses me thinks!!!

Yesterday was the first day out since the cold snap. Morning low was above 0F.....barely....opened the hatch anyway, as with clear skies, the temps would certainly go up. Pics from after work....they all came running to say, "Hi!" Thing has finally blossomed and is exploring with the flock. Pear has gone from looking like a ragamuffin to looking ready for the red carpet (almost, feathers are still lengthening). Cheetah got some tidbitting in and gave me some ideas to help him with his courting: hang on the deck until they start wandering off, then toss walnut pieces occasionally, aiming for near him.View attachment 3007086View attachment 3007085View attachment 3007087Yes, he's really that tiny
Marvelous!

Best of luck! Slow integration is best if possible, but then there is @BY Bob with Betty. She integrated herself with Phyllis just fine! Didn't give Phyllis much choice!:plbb
Betty has that personality. She is fully integrated with everyone whether they like it or not. She is a pretty amazing lady.

I was about to let my gang out yesterday when I realized the crows were kicking up a ruckus, I stopped and looked up and around, and there flying over the bush behind the barn was a big Red Tail Hawk.

Thank you Sir Edgar Allen Crow 🤗

Love the crows and Jays they are good alarms, Pangoo is really getting used to paying attention to them.
Excellent use of of the crowd by you. It is very important that we keep aware of the other wildlife. They will warn us to issues.
