Our weather has not been conducive to flock observations recently. However today was dry & I am wondering if Luna & Ha'penny have split the top job. Ha'penny was out & about with all the known foragers. Luna had everyone else sheltering under the greenery. Aoife was doing a lot of screaming. She will drive the neighbourhood nuts if she keeps it up. The Vorwerks do their own thing. Afternoon rest time next door's bantams hang close to the fence where my girls are. They seem to consider themselves part of my lot.
Oh I think visiting with the neighbours is awesome 😊.

I think it's sweet that they visit with yours. Your lot might be too much for any one hen right now and 1 & 2 may decide it is better to split them and lead different groups periodically. I will be interested to see if they switch who has which group.
I was thinking similar to @Shadrach s tribes when more than one rooster. in the tribe...each had 'their' hens within that tribe that they mated with, escorted, protected........though both 'groups' of hens mingled freely while out and about....it was more who had to 'run' for escort...and/or who had to provide look-out service when the group split into different areas (i.e. dust bathing and foraging) ?No? Not really sure, just pondering out loud.
