That is exactly what grief looks like in hens. And pensiveness. Don't be surprised if someone starts looking "depressed", whatever that is in chickens. So sorry!!!It's raining pretty hard now. All the hens are in the coop, BeeBees buddy/sister Sunshine, was looking frantically for her. That was sad for me to watch.
Losing a bird changes the pecking order too.
They do Bob. Thankfully they have trouble with the search function, but so do most here on BYC.

His name was Doo. As you have noted, it is always our favorites who get taken. He was taken by a hawk not so long ago. The recent conv re safety vs freedom hits close to home.
